Amanda
I volunteer with Summer Club and Thursday club because I enjoy working with children and this gives me an opportunity to work with children and to try new activities. I get a lot of enjoyment from volunteering and the training has given me new skills. The main reason I do volunteer work because I enjoy it.
Derbyshire Constabulary: - Buxton Police Station
I can thoroughly recommend Buxton Volunteer Centre as partners as they have always been flexible and undertaken any training that has been offered to them. In relation to the transport to events, their skills, knowledge and advice in the area is second to none, without which the success of Liberation Day events would not have been as great as it was. They efficiently organised and arranged transport for over 250 people to and from the events, for the last five years.
I would fully commend them, for their community involvement and community working. They have great partnership working skills and I offer my unconditional support for their services, and for any tenders or funding bids that they apply for.
Macclesfield District General Hospital: - John Wilbraham Chief Executive
It is always satisfying to see a (transport) scheme such as yours doing such great work on behalf of our patients and we thank you for all the hard work and efforts given freely from your organisation.
Chesterfield Royal Hospital: - Andrew Jones Director of Allied clinical & Facilities Services
I was very pleased to read of the success of the (transport) scheme and both the hospital and the patients you have served are certainly appreciative of your efforts. I hope that you will continue to flourish in the forthcoming years. Many thanks.
Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport: - Judith Morris Director of Nursing & Midwifery
I would like to thank you for all the help you provide to our patients in transporting them to and from Stepping Hill Hospital and all in an extremely cost effective way. Please pass on my thanks to your hard-working volunteers and be assured that you have the Trust's continued support.
Mrs S. (service user)
I would like to thank you for your amazing kindness and efficiency, in sending a (volunteer) driver to pick me up from Stepping Hill Hospital on Thursday at such short notice. When i was discharged that morning, I rang the Centre to see if someone could pick me up later in the day. Within an hour you had found a (volunteer) driver and I was back home by 11.30am!
On Monday I rang the Centre again to see if you would find a (voluteer) driver to take me to Stepping Hill Hospital on Tuesday afternoon for an ECG at 2.30pm. I had a phonecall from Stepping Hill on Friday for this appointment, which was a cancellation, which is why I had such a short time to contact you. But once again you worked a miricle for me and found a (volunteer) driver!
Thank you for your wonderful service, kind regards Mrs S.
Local High Peak Volunteer Centre
The volunteer drivers have a very caring approach to our centre users. They have demonstrated warmth and kindness in their role.
Mrs T (Service User)
I had every intention of writing to say that my driver did far more than his actual duty when taking me for a cataract operation. After an exceptionally good swift journey he took me to the exact ward and some 5 hours later after the op, he was there smiling and waiting for me. I could hardly believe it. Thank you, you were a true friend.
Mrs K (Service user during severe winter weather)
I am finding it hard to believe what a fantastic day i had yesterday (05/02/13).
Mr Andrew Bingham MP for High Peak
I was most pleased to read that your 89 (transport) volunteers gave an incredible 9049 hours to assist those over 65 years old or anyone with a disability or learning difficulty. The service your volunteers provide makes a positive contribution to the lives of thousands of people in the local area, and demonstrates that the volunteering spirit is alive and well here in the High Peak.
